One Room Challenge: Week 4 Shed Makeover Updates
Howdy! How is it already Week 4 of Calling It Home's One Room Challenge? Time is a mystery to me. Anyways, I am back with yet another album of photos and words of what's been happening with our shed makeover. Just joining us for the challenge now? Catch up with Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3 here. Up to speed now? Okay, let's scroll:
So, our once homely-looking shed is looking happier and brighter these days. Last weekend we worked on more painting and started some landscaping. Week 3 the shed had new trim, but unpainted.
This week we painted all of the new trim brown, to match the rest of the shed and house. Mid-painting adventures happening right here.
While I was painting, Paul decided to tackle some landscaping that wasn't part of the original shed makeover plan, but has been on my honey-do-list since we moved in. This gutter and rock bed has been driving us nuts since day 1. The photo below is sans the rock at this point. The corner previously consisted of broken black landscaping trim, river rock, decorative rocks and a gutter. A tripping hazard and eye sore. What did we do about it? Keep scrolling to see the process.
1) Dug a hole to bury the gutter extension. 2) Covered the gutter and hole up and added new landscaping trim.
3) Added landscaping fabric to keep out any weeds that may decide to grow someday.
4) Stand on deck and eat a snack. Take a photo of husband working hard.
5) Add sand to level the ground for stepping stone. 6) Place stepping stone. 7) Add the mulch and place the decorative rocks.
This view is so much more pleasant. I cannot even begin to tell you how HAPPY this simple little project makes me. Slightly silly, but the little things always get me. I take the Annie pup out the back door each morning so I truly appreciate the fresh view each and every morning. Annie pup even uses that stepping stone like a boss.
What's up next? More landscaping this week, but I promise we'll actually landscape around the shed. Maybe. Have I mentioned how much we adore landscaping? We also have to work on organizing the inside, building shelves and add interior lighting. Only 2 more weeks to go! See what other ORC participants have been up to for their Week 4 updates here. Thanks for popping by and check back next week for more updates!
