52 Weeks of Mail: Week 37 | College Survival Kit
Tis the season for going back to school for students of all ages. Do you remember going away for your freshman year of college? Maybe you didn't experience college, but you definetly remember sending your kids away to college. An exciting and emotional milestone for kids and parents. One of my cousins started his freshman year of college just a few weeks ago so I thought I'd send him a "survival" package with food and a card.
Food survival is a major skill you develop during your freshman year. Later in life, you realize how nice it is to have a larger food budget so you don't have to eat only food items that require adding water and a microwave. To this day, I still cannot eat instant mac and cheese. One too many servings of that fake cheese flavor. 😶 Anyhoo, I wandered around Target to find some college-like-food that would fit nicely in a USPS box.
Here's what's in the box: microwave popcorn, ramen, Annie's White Cheddar Mac and Cheese (waaaayyyy better than the other stuff), peanut butter, jelly, beef jerkey and sour patch kids.
Of course, I included a card that reads " Let New Adventures Begin". Inspiring for the new college go-ers, right? I hope so. I hope he enjoys the box of goodies and card. Perhaps, he'll use the card as wall art for his dorm? Are you sending away survival kits to your favorite college go-ers? What are you packing in your boxes?
