52 Weeks of Mail: Week 3 Care Package

Good Evening!  This week certainly turned out to be extra busy so I am a day behind on sharing this week's mail.  I hope you weren't holding your breathe waiting on me.  ;)  As I shared here- Week 3 theme is a care package.  There are SO many cute ideas on Pinterest it was hard to pick a theme.  Before I could pick a theme I needed to decide who I was going to mail to.  The night I was making my plans, I learned about a family who lost their home to a fire.  This hit home for me as my family as been through this unfortunate situation before.  I instantly knew who I wanted to send my care package to.

So, I ventured to the store and collected a basket full of items I thought they may need.  What do you buy for a family that has just lost everything?  A hard shopping list to compile indeed.  I kept my eye out for practical items that might be useful in their temporary living arrangement.

Here are some of the items I included:  sponges, dish soap, pens, post-it notes, notebook, envelopes, tape, plastic baggies, plastic food containers, chip clips, hangers, bungie cords, measuring tape, chapstick, bandaids, bar soap, candy, cat toy, cat treats, dog treats and dog poo bags  (for the pets, who all made it out safe).

I also included a handmade card and a little note for them.  While I'm sure my care package won't fix everything, I hope it brings a smile to their face during this difficult time.  Also, a non-mail related note for my readers:  please test your smoke detectors tonight (and often).

Did anyone else send out a care package this week?  Thanks for reading!
