One Room Challenge | Spring 2022 | Week 4

It’s Week 4 of the One Room Challenge which means we are HALF WAY DONE! Crazy!

This is my third time participating in ORC and I’m so excited to be back at it! Check out my previous projects over here.

Many are anxious for the reveal of the crown molding trim so I’m gonna throw that out shortly. But first, here is a mighty impressive list of what we completed this week:

  1. Crown Molding painted and installed

  2. Crown caulked

  3. New Fan Installed

  4. Old tint removed from windows

  5. New Door Handles installed on bathroom door

  6. Old security system panel (finally) removed … only took us 10 years

The crown molding went DARK to match the ceiling! The majority of you voted for the white option, but a few brave souls voted for dark. I am loving the dark and excited to paint that caulk for the true finished look.

For a split second we thought about leaving the crown molding it’s natural alder wood color. It was almost too pretty to paint! But, since we saved money shopping at BMO I didn’t feel so guilty for painting over it.

Here are more photos from this week’s progress:

If you are local to the Minneapolis, I highly recommend checking out Building Material Outlet in Eagan, MN! You can find great deals on all house related projects. It’s a huge warehouse with cabinets, flooring, doors, windows, trim, wood slabs, tubs, faucets, carpet, etc.

The second row of photos might give you a hint as to what we’re doing on that wall behind the bed. Any guesses?

The third row displays the progress of removing that terrible purple window tint we have on alllllll of our windows! I have been slowly removing over the years, but I still have a million windows to go. LOL But, honestly, it really makes the room feel better when you get that tint off the windows. You can clearly see through the window and it lets in more light to the space.

Lastly, I’ll leave you with this video that will give you some more BTS from Week 4! Enjoy!

More updates will be coming your way! Follow me on Instagram or Facebook for behind the scenes videos and photos on my stories.
