Sixty Years: A Family Celebration
Awhile back I shared a special invitation I designed for my Grandparents' 60th Wedding Anniversary. We surprised them by mailing the invitation as though they were guests invited to the party. The were elated when they received the package and very excited to have the whole family together again. We kept the celebration simple and fun; here's a little preview of our quick celebration honoring my Grandparents.
Since we live in Minnesota and the rest of the family in Texas, we decided Branson, Missouri would be a good middle point. We rented a beautiful home which we all fit into perfectly; everyone had a bed and plenty of elbow room. We purchased groceries for a small army, hunkered down in the house and enjoyed each other's company for about 32.5 hours, literally. It was a quick visit, but we made the most of it.
We enjoyed cake with long-lost-cousin's that lived in the area. Always wonderful to meet more family! Later that evening we had an appetizer themed dinner featuring food inspired by each decade my Grandparents have been married. I printed tents with each decade the history fact related to each appetizer. Scroll through the album below for more photos.
