52 Weeks of Mail: Week 15- Golden Birthday Card & Box
Last week I shared the inspiration for Week 15. If you recall, I was inspired by the Golden Birthday. An extra special birthday, celebrating the year you turn the same age as your birthdate. Did you follow that? If not, maybe this will help.
Over the years, I've learned not everyone is familiar with this milestone. Not as common as one may think, but I'm all about celebrating, so let's get this party started! I put together a Golden Birthday (party) Box and sent to a special 4 year old. Here's what I included:
A golden birthday card, of course. Currently available for sale in my Etsy shop here. A golden balloon (pictured above), golden coins, a dinosaur (to tie the balloon to), golden birthday Oreos and gold stars.
I bought a white shipping box from Target and painted gold dots on the outside. Gold polka-dot wash tape to hold shipping labels, signs and other goodies in place. I used brown crinkle paper to line the bottom of the box. I placed all items on the bottom and the balloon on top. It was a snug fit, but I got it all in there. ***NOTE***Be sure to write this note on the top of your box: DO NOT OPEN WITH SCISSORS! (forgot to take a photo after I did so myself). Because the balloon was touching the top seam, I didn't want them to cut the balloon when opening the box. :)
Last summer I sent another Golden Birthday Box for a special little girl. Here are a few ideas of items to include in a girl's golden birthday box: Goldfish, Little Golden Books, gold crown, golden hair bows and a golden candle. This would also be pretty fun to put tougher for an adult's birthday, too. Want more Golden Birthday ideas? Check out my Pinterest board for more inspiration!
Check back tomorrow for Week 16 Inspiration!
